Call for Abstracts



The ISLC-PAIS Conference 2026 invites original abstracts that deepen scientific understanding and real-world impact in the field of Long COVID and PAIS.

Who can submit?

Researchers, clinicians, healthcare professionals, and experts from related disciplines are invited to submit abstracts.
Early-career researchers are especially encouraged to contribute.

What topics are included?

Abstracts are welcomed across three interconnected tracks: Biomedical, Clinical, and Impact. The Impact Track focuses on societal, policy, lived-experience, and health-system implications of PAIS.

How are abstracts presented?

Accepted abstracts will be considered for oral presentations, poster sessions, or panel discussions, depending on scientific relevance and overall programme balance.

When are the key dates?

Late-Breaking Poster Abstract submission closes on 2 August 2026.
Authors will be notified of the review outcome between
4 and 6 August 2026.
Accepted authors are expected to complete registration and payment by 10 August 2026.

We are pleased to invite Late-Breaking Poster Abstracts for the 2026 Amsterdam ISLC-PAIS Conference 2026.

This submission round is intended for new and relevant findings that were not available before the regular abstract submission deadline. Submissions will be considered for poster presentation only.

To support a clear and fair review process, abstracts are expected to be written in professional English and should clearly describe the purpose, approach and key findings or insights.

For practice-based and impact-oriented submissions, these elements may be adapted to reflect the nature of the work, such as implementation experience, policy relevance, or societal impact. Abstracts should describe completed or sufficiently developed work at the time of submission. Submissions are expected to include substantive findings or insights, rather than statements of intent.

When referring to patients or populations, authors are kindly encouraged to use person-first language (for example, “people with Long COVID” rather than condition-first terms).

The ISLC-PAIS Conference 2026 welcomes a broad range of abstract submissions that contribute to a better understanding of Long COVID and other Post-Acute Infection Syndromes (PAIS). Submissions may present original research, clinical insights, practice-based evidence, or impact-oriented work focusing on societal, policy, healthcare system, or lived-experience aspects of PAIS. Interdisciplinary perspectives that bridge biomedical science, clinical care, and societal impact are particularly welcome. Early-career researchers and professionals working across research, clinical care, policy, and societal domains are strongly encouraged to submit.

Abstracts must be submitted electronically via the online submission system before the stated deadline 30 May 2026. All required fields in the submission form must be completed before final submission. Submissions by email are not accepted. A single optional figure may be included in the uploaded abstract file for illustrative purposes. Tables and multiple figures are not permitted. The abstract text remains the primary basis for review.

It is the responsibility of the submitting author (primary contact) to ensure that all co-authors approve the submission and are informed of the abstract’s status.

Abstracts that are incomplete or not formally submitted before the deadline cannot be reviewed.

Accepted abstracts will be included in the official conference abstract book and may be made publicly available via the ISLC-PAIS website after the conference. By submitting an abstract, authors agree that their submission will be reviewed for conference and program purposes only, in accordance with applicable data protection regulations.

All abstracts will be reviewed by the International Abstract Committee, based on scientific relevance, clarity, and alignment with the conference tracks and program balance. Authors will be notified of the review outcome between 15 and 20 Juni 2026. The review process is conducted confidentially. Final scheduling and session placement are determined by the Scientific Program Committee.
